Flipgrid & Microsoft: technology in the Junior Cycle MFL Classroom
Under the Modern Foreign Languages Junior Cycle specification, each strand identifies specific areas where digital learning must take place. This learning takes the form of: sourcing, selecting and sharing authentic resources; producing and editing texts; interacting in writing; evaluating the reliability of digital technologies; and communicating orally. Digital learning is also incorporated into each of the key skills at Junior Cycle. The increasing use of technology in the classroom may seem challenging, and sometimes time-consuming, but digital technologies can empower students to take responsibility for their own learning and to explore personal interests in further depth within Francophone culture. This workshop explores different means of building technology into the classroom and homework, with a specific focus on Flipgrid for spoken production, and using Microsoft Apps such as OneNote to build an ePortfolio.
